It is a legal requirement to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage EYFS with all children under 5. We do this by carefully planning activities following children’s individual needs and interest, in a well resourced, safe and caring environment. This will include indoor and outdoor play, visits and outingsIndoor Play – We provide a wide variety of age appropriate toys for indoor use.
Indoor Play – We provide a wide variety of age appropriate toys for indoor use. With the log cabin it is easier to tidy away one toy before getting the next one out. This helps children learn how to tidy up which is an important part of social development.
Outdoor Play - We have a fully enclosed garden with a variety of ride on toys, games, swings, slide and a trampoline with safety enclosure. Other activities include walks, playground and other trips.
Free Play - It is important for each child to experience free play, this gives them the opportunity to make their own choices of what they wish to play with.
Story Time - We have a good selection of books for all ages. We sit and read to the children and we look at books together. Children can also choose their own book from the book corner and sit independently and read.
Music Time - We have song time for the children where each child can join in by singing, dancing and learning the actions to the song. We also provide musical instruments for the children to use during music time.
Role Play - We provide role play for children this helps to extend a child's imagination. I have dressing up clothes, shopping facilities including shopping till, kitchen with saucepans, apron, plate and cups.
Messy Play - We have many fun activities including, water play, sand table, play dough, glueing/sticking, painting and cooking.
Outings - We attend the local toddler group, Childminding Drop In Sessions, the Library, Messy Play and the park, in the holidays we will take the children to the Musuems, Cannizaro Park, Crystal Palace Park, Horton Park Farm and Tilgate park
